Modern Israel and the Strong Delusion of the Christian Elect

By Jason Charles on 1/10/2018 (6 years 79 days ago) Israel/Zionism

Modern Israel is a painful subject to write about due to the prophecy obsessed culture in many U.S. churches. Any negative criticism of the state of Israel, or its roll relative to prophetic interpretation opens one up to the wrath of potentially millions. For many Christians, the modern, political state of Israel has become a symbol of prophetic fulfillment, and thus worthy of their undying devotion and praise.

Herein lies the problem. At what point does the fanatical support of Israel become idolatry in a Christians life? Meaning at what point, in the mind of a believer, does Israel start to play a more important role in prophecy than Jesus Christ Himself?

    The Great Deception

In the famous chapter of Matthew 24 we see two settings, and two different questions asked by the disciples.

In Matthew 24:1-2, Jesus first speaks to His disciples about the immediate coming destruction of Jerusalem, saying “There shall not be left here one stone upon another.” Then later in verse 3, in a different setting the disciples asked him, “Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Answering them, Jesus describes the circumstances that will lead up to His future appearance and coming Kingdom. He said there will be much war among the nations, that false Christs and prophets will arise on the scene, famines and earthquakes will be common, there will be mass persecution of the saints, and tribulation like the world has never seen. But before he lists any of these things he prefaces this whole prophetic passage with a stern warning to the disciples saying,

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” Matthew 24:4-5

If you notice while reading through the text of Matthew 24 that this warning is layered into almost every passage. In Matthew 24:24, He warns that in these times the deception will be so great that even the elect will be deceived by the false prophets and signs.

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect” Matthew 24:24

This Greek word “ἐκλεκτός, or elect is used over 24 times in the Greek New Testament, and every time it is used, it is in reference to those “saved” and “chosen” in Christ. This means that the Great Deception period leading into the End Times will involve the deception of the whole world, but most importantly it will be specifically targeting Christians. This deception will be so powerful that it can cause Christians to denounce Christ, if “it were possible.”

This is a point that many theologians either ignorantly miss or blatantly ignore. Jesus is warning us all that the antichrist is coming in such a way that for some “Christians," this could very well become a salvation issue leading towards their eventual destruction if God (Matt. 24:22) does not shorten the days.

This has to be hugely concerning, ask yourself are you so patently right in your interpretation of prophecy that you couldn't possibly fall prey to such deception? Or is there room for error, and God revealing the Truth on this issue in your heart? I would hope in all humility each one of us is consistently checking our beliefs about scripture with scripture itself. It is amazing how thoughts and ideas about prophecy sneak their way into our thinking unaware. These thoughts shape our imagination and even expectations as to what to look for when waiting for Christ’s return. The question I want people to ask is, what if our current model of prophetic interpretation is the very model that will play into this grand delusion? What if it is planted as a means to sucker Christians into becoming so prideful about how they understand prophecy that it then becomes a tool of the enemy to cloud their understanding to the point of believing the deception?

    False Prophets and False Signs

For me I question every doctrine and every teaching. False doctrine on the scale of what we are talking about will not come from without, it will come from within the church itself. The world doesn't teach scripture. No, the pastors and seminaries teach scripture, and during this time they will be complicit in purveying a doctrine that plays into the end time ambitions of Satan himself. This is the only conclusion one can make; false doctrine comes by false churches, and thus false churches will worship a false messiah if they are not careful. This is how the elect will be deceived, by their own teachers and pastors.

Now, I love being counted among the Elect of Christ, and I would never want to fall prey to any false doctrine, or teaching, nor do I want anybody else too either. So, with the above recognized we must ask of our generation and every generation from here-on-out, what is this Great Deception? How will we recognize it? How will we avoid being led astray by our own teachers on these subjects? Scripture is clear, this deception is uniquely a Christian deception and thus we need to analyze anything doctrinally that may obstruct our view of Christ.

So how do we know that this false doctrine that will lead us astray will come from within the church itself?

We know this because the Apostle Paul almost in total parallel to what Christ said in Matthew 24 gave us a prophetic look at what we can expect in the End Times also. He states in 2 Thessalonians,

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians  2:4

Take special not of that phrase “falling away,” this is the Greek word ἀποστασία or apostasia where we get the word “apostate” from. The word apostate is used two times in scripture and means a defection from truth or forsaking the truth in a religious sense. So, Paul right here in 2 Thessalonians tells us that before the antichrist and his system is in place there will be a great falling away from truth within the church.

The ironic thing is the 2nd time this word apostate is used in scripture it tells us exactly what the apostasy will manifest as inside the church.

In Acts 21 the converted Jews in Jerusalem used the word apostate to try to defame Paul by saying he teaches Jews to “forsake” Moses, which he had not. These Jews demanded he prove that he was not teaching such “apostasy” their words, by proving it and taking some Jews to the temple to have their heads shaved ending their vows as Nazarites as prescribed in the law of Moses.

“And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law: And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.” Acts 21:21

They devised a scheme to appease the multitude of Jews there in Jerusalem that aimed to demonstrate that Paul had not forsaken Moses. They suggested he did so by taking those under their vow to the Temple to perform their religious rites under the Law of Moses. I have always wondered why Paul agreed to this, it is hugely problematic seeing he was always vehemently opposed to anyone who would cause Jew or Gentile to continue under Jewish law seeing it was fulfilled in Jesus (Matt. 5:17).

This whole question as to whether Jews or Gentiles were required to follow the law had been put to rest in a prior trip to Jerusalem. Paul in Acts 15 called what is termed the Jerusalem Council to address the Judaziers that where teaching gentiles to circumcise themselves and follow Jewish customs. It was ruled by the attending elders in Jerusalem that Gentiles and Jews alike were absolved from the Jewish customs, they had their liberty in Christ and where no longer subject to Jewish law. Peter gave an eloquent address on the issue closing the matter in this chapter.

So, even though Paul probably had reservations, he did it anyway as a means to lessen the tension between him and the Jerusalem converts that still couldn't purge themselves of their Jewish thinking. You continue to read and you see that these Jews eventually caused a massive scene in the Temple despite this attempt at appeasement, stirring up a riot that eventually led to Paul’s arrest by Roman authorities. So in the end it was the Judaizing Christians that finally managed to ensnare Paul who evaded them for so many years. There he was honoring Moses at the Temple, but they only wanted his blood.

The word apostasy in the Apostle Paul’s mind especially considering the above drama had a very specific meaning; it always involved Christians becoming Judaized towards a false gospel. This was true in Paul’s day, and it is also true in our day. The Great Deception or Apostasy involves Israel and the Judaizing of Christianity.

The Gospel narratives, Acts and the writings of the epistles are replete with contests between the Jews and the early Christians. In fact Paul wrote an entire epistle dedicated to the Jewish apostasy called Galatians. The entire book of Galatians deals with Christians becoming Judaized to the point of losing sight of Jesus. Judaism was pitifully evil, and it was a shame to fall for such doctrine. Paul argues that if Christians had to conform to Jewish law to be saved, then Jesus’ death and resurrection were in vain.

So we now know who the false prophets are, they are the false preachers teaching a false doctrine that aims to drag Christians back under the Jewish religion. Do we see that today? Are Christians increasingly becoming Judaized? You better believe it, by the millions thanks to all these televangelist charlatans. In fact, now that modern Israel has reappeared on the scene Christians have become infatuated with everything Israel related. They simply can’t attend enough prophecy conferences, nor can the watch or buy enough DVD’s on the topic. Some have even gone to the extent of celebrating Jewish feast days, honoring the Jewish Sabbath, wearing Jewish prayer shawls, blowing shofars during their services, etc, etc.

Modern Israel isn’t What it Seems

Seeing how hard the apostles struggled, and warred against this false teaching of a Judaized Christianity we can now turn our eyes toward the modern state of Israel. To begin I want to bring the reader’s attention back to 2 Thessalonians where Paul talked about the Great Apostasy and falling away that will occur prior to the entrance of the antichrist, and prior to Christ’s 2nd coming.

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4

Ask yourself, where does scripture say the “Son of Perdition” will sit? He will sit in the Temple of God, demanding to be worshiped as God. Well there is only one place in the world that this could take place, and I will give you a hint it isn’t Trump tower, nor D.C., or the Vatican, this can only happen on the Temple mount in Jerusalem, inside a 3rd yet to be constructed Temple.

First off who is the Son of Perdition? This is a reference to Judas. When Christ in prayer thanked God for His disciples saying he had lost none except Judas who he called the Son of Perdition.

“While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.” John 17:12

Now why would Jesus in John 17 and the Apostle Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 call the Antichrist the Son of Perdition? Because Judas was the only man that Satan himself had entered into, causing him to betray Jesus into the hands of the Jewish authorities.

Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. Luke 22:3

The antichrist is a type of Judas, who will make Himself a throne and demanded to be worshiped as a false messiah on the Temple Mount at Jerusalem. It’s not the Pope in the Vatican, nor is it some Islamic Mahdi, it most likely will be a Jew, from Jerusalem, who comes in some glorious fashion after the 3rd Temple has been rebuilt.

Now is this possible today? No, Israel maybe there but the Temple is not, but the technology does exist to stage a magnificent entrance by this so-called world leader. Heck for all we know he could come out of the clouds in some space craft, with holographic angels projected on the clouds. We have no clue just when this will occur or how, but what we do know is what Jesus told us, and that is to be prepared for an other-worldly event that paves the way for it all. Will Muslims fall for it? Yes. Will Jews fall for it? Yes. Will Catholics fall for it? Yes. Will secular people fall for it? Yes. Will evangelical Christians fall for it? Heck they already have and the fake arrival hasn't even begun.

This is why the Bible labels it a strong delusion, everybody will be duped given the circumstances. This is the devils final show; you know it will be a dozy. My aim is to at least make Christians aware of such a possibility before they just unthinkingly throw their support to Israel.

    Blessings and Cursings?

What more do we need to know? Jesus and even Paul plainly told us what the Great Deception will be. It will be false teachers in the church proclaiming a false Zionist/Judaized doctrine, that all culminates in a messiah type figure being worshiped as God. It stands to reason that Satan who seeks to be God, would desire to be worshiped as God, in the place of God, by the elected saints of God. Remember Jesus himself referenced the prophet Daniel in Matthew 24 who first depicted this scene, calling it the Abomination of Desolation,

“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:” Matthew 24:15-16

Jesus says the key to all these things will be the false prophets, their big sign (Modern Israel), and their miraculous wonders. In short those controlled by Satan will be performing miracles on a worldwide scale, they will be earth stopping in magnitude, and will usher in a dramatic paradigm shifts among the nations and its leaders.

The term given to those that follow this false, apostate doctrine in the ancient era were called Judaized Christians by the apostles. In the modern era they are called Christian Zionists. These are men and woman who literally believe that God fights for modern Israel to this very day. You hear people under the Zionist spell quick to remind anyone questioning their Israel first doctrine that if you “Bless Israel God will bless you, but if you curse Israel God will curse you.” This is in reference to a common misinterpreted verse that appears in Genesis 12.

“And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Genesis 12:2-3

Now the Christian Zionists today use this verse to mean that God will curse you if you curse Israel as a nation. But plainly that is not what the verse says. God says to Abraham, I will Make THEE into a great nation, I will bless THEE, and make THY name great and in THEE all families be blessed. Everything is singular in this verse speaking of Abraham alone. It has nothing to do with a sliver of land along the Mediterranean at that moment or 1000’s of years later, but has everything to do with Abraham himself, his spiritual blessing, and those he interacts with in his lifetime.

God gave many things to Abraham, wealth, land, guidance, and even victory in battle as a reward for his faith; but most importantly he gave Abraham a spiritual heritage that would result in our salvation. The Apostle Paul spoke of this spiritual heritage in Galatians. He said Jesus Christ is our spiritual heritage and the fulfillment of this prophecy. That all the families of the earth will find their blessing only in Jesus Himself as savior of the whole world.

“Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.” Galations 3:6-9

This is an important distinction to make. God himself judged the Jews time and time again. They were subject to His laws, and if they didn't follow His laws God used pagan nations like Babylon and Rome to obliterate Israel. This would indicate God cares about their ability to follow God’s law more so than the land of Israel itself. In fact a careful reading of scripture would indicate that Israel was either inside or outside of God’s will depending on whether they followed His laws rather than where they lived.

The Creators of Modern Israel are Not Godly People

This false understanding regarding modern Israel was first planted in the U.S. churches by the funding of Zionist Jews in the late 1800’s. They used a conman by the name of C. I. Scofield to seed this doctrine of a Jewish nation into the American church by introducing the Scofield reference bible. A Bible that changed the course and doctrine of American theology for the worst in much of the same way the Judaizers of Paul’s day attempted to corrupt the doctrine of Christians in his time. History has a way of repeating itself only because Satan is a one trick pony.

“Two years after Scofield’s reported conversion to Christianity in 1879, the Atchison Patriot was less than impressed. Describing the former Atchison resident as the “late lawyer, politician and shyster generally,” the article went on to recount a few of Scofield’s “many malicious acts.” These included a series of forgeries in St. Louis, for which he was sentenced to six months in jail.

Being a “born again” preacher did not preclude Scofield from becoming a member of an exclusive New York men’s club in 1901, either. In his devastating biography, The Incredible Scofield and His Book, Joseph M. Canfield suggests, “The admission of Scofield to the Lotus Club, which could not have been sought by Scofield, strengthens the suspicion that has cropped up before, that someone was directing the career of C.I. Scofield.”

That someone, Canfield suspects, was associated with one of the club’s committee members, the Wall Street lawyer Samuel Untermeyer. As Canfield intimates, Scofield’s theology was “most helpful in getting Fundamentalist Christians to back the international interest in one of Untermeyer’s pet projects—the Zionist Movement.”

Others have been even more explicit about the nature of Scofield’s service to the Zionist agenda. In “Unjust War Theory: Christian Zionism and the Road to Jerusalem,” Prof. David W. Lutz writes, “Untermeyer used Scofield, a Kansas City lawyer with no formal training in theology, to inject Zionist ideas into American Protestantism. Untermeyer and other wealthy and influential Zionists whom he introduced to Scofield promoted and funded the latter’s career, including travel in Europe.”

On one of these European trips, Oxford University Press publisher Henry Frowde “expressed immediate interest” in Scofield’s project. According to a biography of Frowde, although the OUP publisher was “[n]ot demonstrative in his religious views, all his Christian life he was associated with brethren known as ‘Exclusive.’” The “Exclusive Brethren” refers to the group of Christian evangelicals that, in an 1848 split in the Plymouth Brethren, followed John Nelson Darby, the Anglo-Irish missionary generally considered to have been the most influential figure in the development of Christian Zionism, and a major influence on Scofield.” (WRMEA.org)

Now what many Christians don’t realize is the financial benefactors of the Zionist movement during that time was the evil international Rothschild banking dynasty. Lord Jacob Rothschild even recently as 2017 in an interview admitted that it was his family that forced the creation of Israel through the signing of the Balfour Agreement that caused the British government to officially recognize Palestine as the home of a Zionist state.

The story of how Israel came about started way before WWI and WWII. The modern state of Israel was being built up long before these events, and were shaped mainly by the Rothschild family. In fact, Baron Edmond de Rothschild (1845-1934) is credited as the father of Israel. You can read about Edmond Rothschild in the book Two Rothschilds and the Land of Israel, by Simon Schama.

Scofield was used by these Zionists to plant the idea of Israel support into the American churches long before the UN created it on May 14, 1948. This demonstrated the long-game planning of the Zionists to control the American church and government, and long game planning along these lines is almost universally directed by Satan seeing it is his spiritual agenda. These Zionists instinctively knew that their presence in Palestine would be unwelcomed, and they needed the might and power of the U.S. to aid in their survival. Did that plan ever work, the U.S. military has become the whipping boy of Israel there in the mid east, fighting all of their wars on their behalf and effectively control the U.S. foreign policy along these lines.

Now there is much more that can be historically referenced further elucidating this point, but suffice to say between the scriptures warning of Jewish influence on Christianity, and the evil men who worked tirelessly to orchestrate world events to bring about the modern state of Israel you would be wise to look at its existence with suspicion instead of unthinking adoration like many do. The fact that the Rothschilds and their influence and wealth were behind Israel's creation, you quickly begin to see why everything in terms of politics in the U.S. and in the mid east revolves around Israel. This is their pet project for their lord and master Satan who controls the nations of the world. Everything revolves around the facade of Israel, everything including the politics of the U.S.

    Conclusion

At what point does the infatuation with Israel, Judaism, and prophecy begin to cloud the purpose of scripture; which is to make known Jesus Christ in all of his forms past, present and future. Prophecy is about Jesus, the entire narrative of scripture is about Jesus, anything that detracts from this is a major doctrinal error.

Yet nonetheless many people will ignore the warning and continue to worship Israel. Israel is a nation state like every other. They are subject to all the same international laws and shouldn't be given a special status simply because it possesses the land of Abraham and wears the name of Israel. Its existence has been the cause of much war in the region, and its ambitions are hardly just and Godly, and in fact at anytime could be seen as the capital of the antichrists New World Order and Religion.

Remember that Jesus when he comes in His glory will judge the nations. He will do so in his time and when God Himself deems fit. Christians who think that they are helping set the stage for His appearance need to recognize Jesus doesn't need their help, and in fact to worship Israel is to set up the circumstances for the Great Deception that will deceive the elect in the end times. Jesus will judge every nation including the nation of Israel at that time, and trust me you don’t want to involve yourself with the sin of these warring nations and ultimately the support of the throne of the antichrist. You Too Can Be Saved

Salvation is submission to the authority of our Creator God. To be saved simply call upon the name of Jesus. Ask Him to lead, guide and direct you to a full knowledge of who He is, and who you are in Him.

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." - John 14:6

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." - Romans 10:13
