Walk into any church in America and ask them who owns the lands of Israel, and in chorus you would hear…”the Jews.” Then grabbing the nearest Bible they would feverishly flip the pages to Genesis 12:1-3 entering into evidence these passages,
“Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Genesis 12:1-3
Not So Fast
While there are many things to note in this verse I want to point out the glaringly obvious fact that if you actually read this passage, the blessing is most importantly singular to Abram in his lifetime, and then the verse ends with the only future statement and dramatically extends this blessing to “...all families of the earth.”
It becomes apparent in this verse, that the land itself is not a conduit of the blessing at all, just an early starting point for Abram to grow into a massive dynasty and people in the region; then in time that blessing would grow outside of his actual blood and yes borders into “..all families of the earth.”
So any interpretation of this verse that draws us back to the land of Israel, and seeks to elevate the importance it plays in Abram’s Blessing is missing the culminating point of the verse here. The blessing will be found everywhere other than in the borders of Israel, as it goes out into the world.
Conclusion
And that is exactly what we have today, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the fulfillment of these verses and promise to Abraham has indeed taken over the world, and so happens to be found everywhere other than the physical proximity of Israel as a location and nation. Israel today is as godless and bloody as anytime in their history. That little sliver of land is full of warmongering and sinful curses, mainly the Jews that claim that territory as their own have rejected God and Jesus as their messiah. Nothing will leave you more cursed on this earth than the rejection of Christ.
If you want to find the Blessing of Abraham you have to go outside of that land, its people, its traditions, its blood and find Christ, and likewise if you want to be a blessing to Israel and its blinded people, then you need to bring them Jesus Christ as their Messiah. The Apostle Paul pointed out this very thing to the Galatians 2000 years ago, and apparently this obvious fact needs to be pointed out to the modern Christian Zionists that worship Israel.
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:26-29
