Nothing is more emblematic of the Gaza/Israel conflict than the image of the small child, Faris Odeh hurling a stone at an on-coming IDF tank in the midst of a war-torn backdrop. The imagery parallels the Biblical story of David and Goliath. Only in this modern version of the story, Israel is the mechanized military aggressor, and David is personified by the small Palestinian child up against all odds. Sadly it was credibly reported that the rock-throwing child in those images, Fairs Odeh was killed shortly thereafter by IDF sniper fire back in November of 2000.
Well, speaking of iconic imagery, thanks to a botched IDF special forces raid this last weekend, the overworked PR guys in the Israeli government now have images flooding the internet of a protesting man in a wheel chair hurling rocks in the IDF’s direction that have gone viral. Another iconic reminder of the real aggressor in these conflicts.
The Giant Lives
The protests that have erupted in Gaza are due to a recent, botched raid, in which a military Special Forces team was busted red-handed by Palestinian soldiers, and the ensuing firefight killed both Palestinians as well as Israeli soldiers; including, an IDF Special Forces officer, who died engaged in unjust, aggressive military action. The consequences of which cost this officer his own life, others lives, and more bloodshed in Gaza, as Israel retaliated with airstrikes on Gaza media and governmental facilities.
A report quoting a commanding Maj. Gen. in the IDF military brazenly claimed this action wasn’t an assassination attempt, because it would have been conducted much more “elegantly.”
“Maj. Gen. (res.) Tal Russo, a former commander of the IDF Southern Command, indicated that the operation was likely an intelligence-gathering mission gone wrong, rather than an assassination attempt on Barakeh, as Hamas initially claimed.
“Activities that most civilians aren’t aware of happen all the time, every night and in every region. This action — an operation that was apparently exposed — wasn’t an assassination attempt. We have other ways of assassinating people and we know how to do it much more elegantly,” Russo told Channel 10 news.
…
The Qassam Brigades said it engaged the Israeli commandos, setting off an intense firefight with Israeli troops, including reported intense drone strikes throughout the southern Gaza Strip.
The special forces squad was forced to retreat to the Israeli side of the fence under the cover of the aerial bombardment, Hamas’s military wing said in a statement. A Hamas spokesperson praised the “brave resistance that repulsed the Israeli aggression.

Many details of the Israeli operation in Gaza could not be published by order of the military censor.” (Times of Israel)
Unbelievably, this is what amounts to an apology in a Zionist run police state. We are sorry we did not conduct our kidnapping and espionage raid as eloquently as our assassination raids, and here are some airstrikes in addition for daring to protest or illegal raids.
The bully in this modern story is Israel, a brutish giant antagonizing war and violence among a neighboring population that has the defensive capabilities of a Stone Age caveman. The unjustness and criminality Israel gets away with routinely is obscene, and absolutely undermines the credibility and motives of the U.N. and other nations like the U.S. that provide unGodly amounts of financial and military support for Israel, despite their continued war crimes.
A Family of Oppressive Giants
In Samuel 21, we read about the family members of Goliath the giant, and how David and his men slew Goliath’s sons and also his brother who was even bigger and stronger than Goliath himself. This family of giants banded together shortly after the death of King Saul and attempted to kill David. Instead David’s men came to his rescue and killed Goliath’s sons’ and brother.
“And Ishbibenob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.” 2 Samuel 21:16
This is the Biblical story of how the underdog David, with God’s help repelled the giants and Philistine aggressors.
Unfortunately, in our modern story, speaking of Israel and Palestine, the exact opposite happens. Instead of the nations of the world coming to the aid of defenseless Palestine, the nations of the world defend the aggressive acts of the giant Israel and even celebrates them.
Take John Hagee for example, while all of these protests and conflicts are going on he is celebrating the opening of the Friends of Zion Museum and received rewards for his undying support of the giant Israel.
“Hagee arrived in Israel with a group of over one a hundred Christian Zionists and was honored after he and his group toured the Friends of Zion Museum. Founder of the Friends of Zion Museum Dr. Mike Evans presented Hagee with an award for his steadfast support of Israel and the Jewish people.
…
Since 2015, Hagee has been working with the Friends of Zion Museum in Jerusalem on a $100 million project that reveals the heroic stories of the courageous Christians and non-Jews who have assisted the Jewish people throughout the Zionist movement, as well as in critical times such as the Holocaust.” (The Jerusalem Post)
Not one word was spoken in condemnation of the unjust nature of the Israel raid that cost the lives of innocent people. Nothing was said about the protests and bombing campaigns. In our modern story, nobody speaks out on behalf and defense of the little guy and instead helps to facilitate the genocide in Palestine with money, and religious cover by the likes of Christian Zionist John Hagee.
Conclusion
Christians have become so divorced from truth, and rightly applied Biblical principles in scripture they can’t even see that God hates anyone, especially Israel when they shed innocent blood. In Deuteronomy 27, the Levities and priests of God where made to proclaim a series of curses against anyone in Israel that does abominable things such as shed innocent blood, we read,
Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen.
Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen. Deuteronomy 27:24-25
“Smiteth his neighbor secretly,” sounds a lot like a special ops raid and assassination attempt doesn’t it? This is something Israel is undoubtedly guilty of this last weekend with their failed raid.
This curse was spoken aloud to the people of ancient Israel, but applies to all, including Americans and any nation that wrongfully commits unjust action against the innocent. In light of these verses, John Hagee, if he were a true man of God would curse Israel and America respectively for their unjust warmongering in the Middle East in the same way. Instead he provides religious cover and takes bribes in the form of rewards and access to Israeli power.
America and Israel are exactly like the family of giants in David’s day that violently oppress and war against innocent people, only now there is no hero David in our modern times willing to stand up against these oppressive bully nations that have shed so much blood in the middle east. There most certainly aren’t any pastors that are willing to speak out, condemning the perpetual war state. They are to afraid that they will be cursed for saying anything about Israel due to their false interpretation of Genesis 12:3. They forget what brings a real curse is the shedding of innocent blood, not unthinking loyalty to a wicked nation.
Like Hagee they are all cowards who refuse to speak out against the wars of America and Israel, they are "giant" sympathizers who labor under false doctrine. The people of Palestine exhibit the courage of David with their rocks against tanks and the military might of Israel.
I personally am not afraid to curse Israel and America for their warmongering and unjust aggressive wars. I pray that more pastors will have the courage to start standing with the poor, oppressed Palestinian people rather than the blood thirsty Zionists. These pastors like, Israel heap the curse of God upon their heads.
