The Foolish and the Wise in the Modern Age

The Book of Proverbs was written by King Solomon as a collection of sayings to help instill people with a thirst for knowledge, truth, justice, wisdom and most importantly cultivate a righteous fear for God. Those who lived by these sayings were consider wise, esteemed, courageous and commanded respect in all areas of their lives.

Sadly, those who did not where considered fools, they were troublesome, fighting, drunken individuals who were burdens on family and society. The legendary King had nothing but contempt for fools and wrote these passages down in hopes it could be used to help preserve the moral character and integrity of future generations.

Often times King Solomon described the radical differences between the foolish and the wise and how they conducted themselves in the same passages praising the good and condemning the evil of men. A quick run down of verses would make it evident that our western society idolizes and even pays absorbent amounts of money for willing individuals to play the "fools" of society. Our pop culture and materialism is being imported across the Earth to the determent of a now incredibly networked global society.

Corruption, disease, teen pregnancy, abortion, violence, divorce, war, incessant leisure and recreation, hypocrisy; and disdain for anything religious and Spiritual is rampant, but in the ruling elite class of our world these evils have taken on an organized, sinister and prophetic dimension.

It is time we take the Proverbs of Solomn to heart, when a generation fails to retain a majority of morally minded men and women society starts the long ugly descent into depravity, corruption and eventual destruction.

Let us heed the words of King Solomon and love the commandments of God lest even our prayers for mercy go unheard.

"He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination." Proverbs 28:9

"By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil." Proverbs 16:6

    Living in Debt

The Fool: The average American Family holds $8,000 in debt according to the American Bankers Association. Couple this with multiple student loans, a mortgage, car payments insurance, gas prices and the cost of living the middle class is now tapped out. Now with the economic collapse and decline of the dollar people are defaulting on all these things because they lived foolish, overextended lives.

"There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up."Proverbs 21:20

The Wise: The people who have diligently learned everything they could about the economic system, how it is manipulated by the Federal Reserve, how a conspiracy by Wall Street banks is underway sapping the tax payers of all their hard earned money through taxes, bail outs, social programs, unending war, and job-loss. They stayed clear of credit cards instead placing their money in silver and gold and real assets like property to safe guard their hard earned treasure.

"Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good." Proverbs 20:23

    Storing Food and Eating Well

The Fool: Despite the fact that studies have proven time and time again that just about everything in our modern diet is poison, whether processed food, our water and even the air we breath it has all been tainted with cancer causing chemical agents that destroy fertility in men and women. The rates of cancer, heart disease, obesity, autism have gone up a 100 fold but fools keep on dining at fast food, drinking soda and using harmful chemicals, with no concern for their own well being or health

"He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame." Proverbs 10:5

The Wise: Educated people have heeded the warnings and instead have stored up food for their families that is organic, nutritious and free from the industrial pollutants and GMO foods. They also have learned to hunt, farm and become self sustaining in case of emergencies or an economic collapse.

"And thou shalt have goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens." Proverbs 27:27

    Endless Recreation and Sports

The Fool: The American experience has become synonymous with weekend concerts, clubs, alcohol, football and outdoor recreation. Meanwhile political and financial corruption has pushed most to the brink of poverty. Yet the fool still finds time to shortchange their children and their own futures by watching hours of T.V. and spending money on useless crude and entertainment.

"It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom." Proverbs 10:23

The Wise: Seeing that this society is trending towards tough times the wise have decided to spend their weekends as activists, protesting and educating people, saving their money, and preparing mentally, physically and spiritually for what lies ahead. The time  to begin preparing for these things have long passed and those that hide themselves from the folly of pleasure seeking will be in a position to ride out any economic down turn.

"Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds." Proverbs 27:23

    Disdain for God

The Fool: As men and women go through school they are indoctrinated into hating anything religious and of God. By the time they graduate college they are indebted, under-educated and have no respect for Biblical truths. Truths that have been foundational to good governing, family living and spiritual development for thousands of years. The media, teachers, politicians and even parents now raise their children to hate and ridicule the things of God, preferring political correctness and new age laced curriculum to the absolute Truths of the Bible.

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction." Proverbs 1:7

The Wise: The scriptures tell us that those who seek after knowledge and desire to live justly do so because they fear God. This means they recognize ultimate supreme authority and understand that in this life we are meant to separate ourselves in thought world and deed from the wickedness that ensnares so many. This fear is what keeps us from over indulgence and selfish gain knowing that we are given our decisions in this life but will be judged according to them in the next.

"A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished." Proverbs 27:12

    Perpetual War and Violence

The Fool: Our culture is filled with bloody movies, video games and macabre music. This has infiltrated and desensitized people to the point of pure apathy for extended illegal wars of aggression. People foolishly believe that endless wars of aggression are needed to combat enemies and that we as citizens need to be groped at TSA check points and spied on in every aspect of our lives to be safe. Though the American military has been hijacked and used to  decimate cultures and governments around the globe no one seems to care because they lack empathy and compassion for their fellow man.

"The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them." Proberbs 12:6

The Wise: The wise raise their kids to be passionate about non-violence and point out the rampant lies and political distortions that pass as our media in this country. Our political leaders are wholly sold out to the miltary industrial complex and in turn sold out to the New World Order. People with true discernment and love for humanity protest and discourage the use of war and violence in any way shape or form.

"For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety." Proverbs 24:6

    Conclusion

We can turn from our foolish ways as a society, we can become wise once again, but we have to recognize our folly, repent and prepare to publicly denounce our society with prophetic fervor if we are to restore the sacred Biblically founded honor of our country. This means we need to find time to be active in our communities and churches condemning the sin and praising those who stand up and champion what is right. We must do what is commanded of us and commit everyday to be vocal champions of truth and righteousness in homes, work places and churches.

As King Solomon stated we most love and cherish wisdom, knowledge and righteousness instead of mankind's folly.

"Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out, in the gateways of the city she makes her speech" ~ Proverbs 1:20-21

    You Too Can Be Saved

Salvation is submission to the authority of our Creator God. To be saved simply call upon the name of Jesus. Ask Him to lead, guide and direct you to a full knowledge of who He is, and who you are in Him.

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." - John 14:6

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." - Romans 10:13
