Stupidity of Thought
A conversation about God's mercy with your average atheist who is steeped in the nihilistic ideologies of Richard Dawkin's or Stephen Fry will only bring scoffs and mockery. Their complaint being, God throughout scripture acts unjustly. They think they are clever by cherry-picking Bible verses that seem to show God as being a homicidal ego-maniac, and in their view this is what makes God Himself evil. Now their blasphemy aside, what ends up happening is you only see a very narrow minded, and wrong view of God and His role as a Judge of Nations, something I have written about in the past.
In fact read the God hater, Stephen Fry's words yourself, who just this week narrowly escaped prosecution on long standing blasphemy laws in Ireland.
"The row erupted after a member of the public contacted police about Fry's interview on Irish broadcaster RTE's show The Meaning Of Life in February 2015.
The footage went viral after it was aired and has now been seen more than seven million times on YouTube.
Asked what he would say if he was confronted by God, Fry replied: "How dare you create a world in which there is such misery that is not our fault? It's not right. It's utterly, utterly evil.
"Why should I respect a capricious, mean-minded, stupid God who creates a world which is so full of injustice and pain?"
Questioned on how he would react if he was locked outside the pearly gates, he responded: "I would say, 'Bone cancer in children? What's that about?'" (Telegraph)
That would be his question, "bone cancer in children?" As if that is God's fault? It is more likely God would say to Him at the pearly gates, "point to the verse in which I instructed humanity to poison their environment with caustic chemicals, crude oil derivatives and even radioactive materials in the Bible?" Fry couldn't find it. Cancer ridden kids and adults are a result of human greed and supposed human innovation. That is why these evils have been unleashed. God didn't mine uranium and tell the U.S. and Russian government to set off countless thousands of test nukes, scattering radioactive dust across the globe, that was mankind that did that. It really doesn't take a genius to figure these things out, but hey someone who denies the overt design inherent in creation itself can't be expected of much.
While Fry takes aim at God's creation and sense of justice, Dawkins disparages God by ridiculing his character,
“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”(The God Delusion)
In one chapter Dawkins says God, is fiction, and teaches others this as truth, but will then later turn to say don't indoctrinate kids, in hypocritical fashion.
“Do not indoctrinate your children. Teach them how to think for themselves, how to evaluate evidence, and how to disagree with you.” (The God Delusion)
If this hypocritical line of reasoning doesn't attest to the stupidity of mankind I don't know what else does, and atheists like Dawkins will time and time again double-down on stupidity by lauding scientific progress as the pinnacle of human morality and progress in place of God's law and standard of Justice. Hardly, atheistic, unmoral, unrestrained scientific progress is a gun in the hands of a toddler, and that is exactly why our society is accursed today. To think there are paid professors teaching at a college level that evil and good are irrelevant to our progress as a post-modern society is just plain stupid on fire.

Mankind has done evil from the beginning, and if God had not judged those nations as he had, in totality, our U.S. capital would have a statue of Moloch where the Lincoln monument stands today, perpetually ablaze with the flesh of children. That is what the Aztecs did, and that is what the Babylonians did and so on. So God in his infinite wisdom had some of those nations destroyed by the Jews, while some of them where destroyed by the Christian Conquistadors. Your welcome humanity.
Ask yourself, would society hold an elected judge in contempt if he were to execute justice and put a child rapist and child murderer to death? Of course he wouldn't, in fact the judge wouldn't even be making a judgment, the perpetrator brought this judgment on themselves and the collective conscious of the nation would require his blood. The Judge does no evil by executing the murderer and administrating justice, so neither should God be condemned for executing judgment on child sacrificing nations. Cultures that ritualized the wholesale slaughter of children, and even the cannibalization of their flesh. No Joke. Atheists like Dawkins, literally support cultures that ritualistically held temple orgies, birthed and then sacrificed the babies to the fires of Moloch and Baal. On top of this heinous act would then consume the flesh of those children. See atheists are in a pinch, they say there is no moral absolute, but then in the same breath condemn God as evil in terms of moral absolutes. Yet will then fail to analyze the practices of said nations, wholly blinded in their hate for God. They are not unbiased researchers, their positions are incredibly unscientific and illogical.
So in truly stupid fashion people like Dawkins and Fry condemn God as evil, and praise and defend barbaric nations and practices. No it would have been truly evil if God had NOT put a stop to those nations in his own way and in his own time. Anyone caught using Dawkin's "God is evil" argument is at the same time defending prostitutes bearing children and then sacrificing them to their idols, and devouring them. God here strictly forbids it, as He should.
"That they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to devour them." Ezekiel 23:37
With all their so-called learning they are left with no concept of evil, good, justice, rationality or God, what a rotten state of mind God has left them in.
The obvious conclusion is, Christianity and Western Culture is preferred over the sex/death-cult theocracies that ruled the ancient world. But what would you expect out of someone like Dawkin's who defends mild touching and pedophilia publically? And Yes, Dawkins defended a pedophile that molested him and his schoolmates by pulling them onto his knee and putting his hands down his and other students pants.
"Referring to his early days at a boarding school in Salisbury, he recalled how one of the (unnamed) masters “pulled me on his knee and put his hand inside my shorts.”
He said other children in his school peer group had been molested by the same teacher but concluded: “I don’t think he did any of us lasting harm.”(The Atlantic)
This revelation should exclude Dawkins from any future debate, seeing a traumatic childhood fuels a deep-seated hate for authority which culminated in his hate for an ultimate authority in God. In light of his abuse he can't be seen as rational, and the myopic view of God's character and criticism reflects exactly that. It may be one thing to privately think molestation is no big deal, but to go on public record multiple times excusing a serial child molester in his past is not a reasoned mind by any standard.
What atheists like Fry and Dawkins really have a problem with is not the Creator, but the sin of man. They blindly ascribe all evil to God, without taking a thought towards how they and all the world has benefited from pronouncements and action God has taken against obvious overt evils in the past.
The Mercy and Long-Suffering of God
Despite mankind's obvious stupidity, ignorance and arrogance God remains merciful.
"God's mercy is so great that you may sooner drain the sea of its water, or deprive the sun of its light, or make space too narrow, than diminish the great mercy of God."
- Charles Spurgeon
God truly has chased after humanity throughout the centuries, always working to bring them into a new understanding of the love and mercy He has for us all. God has always desired a relationship with His creation and the Biblical record attests to this. No matter how stupid humanity seems He has gone to great, unimaginable lengths to bring us into an awareness of Him.
We bear God's image meaning we are imprinted with a knowledge of God's natural laws and also have a conscience that demands we do good and administer justice, but apparently that wasn't enough seeing mankind still does evil continually.
God personally led righteous men like Abraham in the ancient past, directly leading them and blessing them as a means to carry on his teaching and instruction.
God seeing that personally mentoring mankind wasn't enough, so through Moses He literally wrote down line by line what is right and what is wrong in the Law. Because apparently the vast majority of mankind couldn't figure out the basic tenants of acting morally and according to the laws of nature.
This wasn't enough either, mankind still did wickedness and so God would call powerful men of God to chastise and prophecy against the fallen Kings of Israel and other nations.
That too wasn't enough so those same prophets spoke of a time when God Himself would enter into the world to demonstrate exactly what was required of us.
This warning wasn't enough so God miraculously physically incarnated in the world and trained up a group of disciples as to what was perfect and right.
The evil powers of Jesus' time put Him to death, and then he miraculously resurrected from the dead. His disciples wised up and reported this around the globe and this knowledge changed the history of mankind as a result, yet still people do evil.
The knowledge in scripture led to the Reformation and Enlightenment period which provided the principles allowing for the separation from the old world tyrannies. This separation is what gave us the American revolution the greatest and most free nation on earth ever. Communist atheism didn't do that, Christians during the colonial period fought for these things.
Now atheism is taking root in America because people buy into illogical arguments leveled at the character of God. Evil has exploded and judgment will follow. That is the pattern of things and we can all thank the prophets of atheism who have attacked the foundations of good and evil as laid out in our own hearts and reinforced in the Bible.
Conclusion
Think about the progression God has used to try and reach and teach humanity. A cursory understanding of scripture would demonstrate a pattern of God going to great lengths to restore humanity to its original state and divinity. To say that the Bible is just a collection of mythological stories concocted in the minds of dozens of ancient men is impossible. The Bible has historical, archeological, psychological, prophetical, and spiritual value that supersedes anything ever written. To say otherwise is to misrepresent the Bible and its impact on humanity and western culture, and is hugely disingenuous to say the least. God has gone to great lengths to preserve mankind, including allowing Himself to be put to death in the most horrendous fashion by arrogant, prideful men. What's worse is the atheists are militant in their persecution of Christians. They see us as a hindrance to the evolution of the species and therefore literally wage war against Christians. As if ridding the world of Christians and the principles of liberty and righteousness would improve our lot as humankind. That is why Stephen Fry should be arrested for blasphemy. To attack the knowledge of God and the Bible is to attack moral absolutes and to undermine every foundational principle of law itself. Law is based on moral right and wrong, something these guys would do away with just to spite God if they could. Justice by definition is the punishment of evil, atheists without moral absolutes have no concept of evil so how can they be trusted to execute justice? They can't!
The sad thing is how many uneducated people parrot these unfounded ideas about God without researching and immersing themselves in the theology, history, and the archeology of the Bible. These people need to come to terms with the great lengths God has supernaturally gone to preserve our generation and repent for their arrogance. It is never a pleasant thing or a good thing to have to punish the unrighteous acts of others, but to allow things to continue unabated is an even worse evil. Atheists should be ashamed of themselves for defending the child sacrificing cultures of the past.
This verse was written for us all, but especially those who remain in their ignorance of God's mercy and plan for salvation. God died for them even still, if only they would open their eyes to the Truth of God's generational work in this world on our behalf.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”Romans 5:8
